The leaders in Northern Uganda have called for unity to tackle the issues affecting development in the region. Isolation of issues according to districts or counties has been singled out as the major threat hindering the development of the region.

Adjumani district woman Member of Parliament Ababiku Jessica says development is not only the presence of roads or electricity but rather the level of resources per households.

Some of the host community are not happy about the presence of the refugees in region. According to the community the refugees are a burden as most of them are dependents.

However the head of UNHCR Moyo field Nene Diola says UNHCR and other UN agencies are committed to working with the host community and the government to reduce the burden of the refugees on the host community to realize development.

Koboko district woman Member of Parliament Margret Baba DirI has appealed to UNHCR to take care of both the refugees and the host community in terms of resource allocations since the two communities have been sharing the available resources together.

Komakech Liadro the Gulu municipality member of parliament urges the leaders in Northern Uganda to unite and speak with one voice in to attract development in the region particularly in west Nile. He has identified the issue of infrastructure as one of biggest challenges in the region.

Hassan Kaps Fungaroo has called for integration of activities to benefit the both local and the refugees. End
