Politicians who are charging to take up leadership positions in the proposed Terego district will have to be patient, until the fate of Terego district is officially discussed in the parliament.

Arua district was prepared to send off Terego county to start a new administration under the NRM decentralization policy, after the political pronouncement by President Yoweri Museveni that the proposed Terego district will operate from July this year.

Wadri Sam Nyakua, chairman Arua district is nervously counting down to the deadline.

Nyakua brought the matter to the attention of the parliamentary committee on government assurance that has been following government pledges.

The committee chairperson, Hassan caps Fungaroo- Member of Parliament Obongi constituency urged the people of Terego and Arua district, not to be excited about the newly proposed districts of Terego, Madi and Vurra.

But Obiga Mario Kania, state minister for internal affairs and Member of Parliament Terego East is confident that Terego, district can still kick off within the set deadline

Creation of the two districts was aimed at effective administration and proximity to services under the decentralization policy.

The last district to be curved away from Arua district was Maracha in 2005.

However, a section of the civil servants for Maracha district have continued to operate from Arua, due to lack of social amenities. End
