The steering committee for the synod of Arua diocese has called upon Christians to support this fifth synod of the diocese.

In this support each chapel is expected to raise 60,000 shillings or a goat, catholic founded institutions have also been called upon to give support as well as individuals.

Already activities ahead of the synod have been agreed upon and the bishop of Arua Diocese Sabino Ocan Odoki says the refugees need to be considered in this activities.

Monsignor Luis Ajusi the general secretary of the steering committee has appealed to the Christians to contribute generously as always to help make the fifth synod of Arua diocese a success.

Radio pacis will play a big role in disseminating information and doing community dialogues. According to Fr. Tonino Pasolini the diocesan communication secretary, local languages will equally be given priority in the broadcastings.

The theme of this synod is focused on strengthening the family. Fr. Pius Yobuta the parish priest of Christ the King says problems in families are expected to be resolved.

This synod has been slated to start from the 12 of November to the 24 of November 2018 where it will end with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Arua diocese. End
