The students of Sts. Peter and Paul minor seminary Pokea have been argued not to join some of the bad movements that are being formed by some of the disgruntled students in the region of west Nile.
This appeal was made by Hon. Anywarach Joshua Carter Member of Parliament for Padyere County Nebbi District an old boy of Pokea Minor Seminary during the celebration of the Patron Saints Peter and Paul on 29th June 2018.
Many old boys both priests and professionals working in various fields, parents of seminarians, other school representatives attended the seminary.The former Rector of Pokea seminary Fr. Puis Yobuta graced the occasion as the main celebrant challenging the seminarians to be disciplined.
He stressed that while serving as the Rector of the Seminary, he focused on nurturing disciplined, hard work, orderly and organized young men.
“That’s why I am proud to be celebrating this mass with some of the students I taught”. He said.
The old boys also used the day to launch their association called Pokea Seminary Old Boys Association POSOSA.The vice chairperson of the association Avutia Ronald Kizito said that the association is made of students who studied in the seminary in O & A Level.
One of the seminarians Amaru Joseph Ezaruku appreciated the initiative of the old boys of forming the association. He is optimistic that through the association they (seminarians) shall learn from the alumni.
Hon. Tom Aza Member of Parliament West Moyo an old boy of Pokea seminary reminded the seminarians on the virtues i.e. hard work, faithfulness, peace, forgiveness and love that learnt from the seminary that have made him the successful.
Sts Peter and Paul minor seminary Pokea the only seminary in west Nile and has produced not only religious priests but also great men who are professionals in different fields.
Sts. Peter and Paul Seminary Pokea is a Minor Seminary found in North Western Uganda, found the district of Arua that was founded in 1963. End
