Acholi Parliamentary Group has been challenged to vigorously prevail over the issues of the disputed Apaa Land.
More than 200 residents of the disputed Apaa land have continued occupying the compound of the United Nations Human Rights-UNHR (Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights) in Gulu town to wait for the responses from the officials of UN in line with the petition they have tabled before them.
Norbert Mao, the President General of Democratic Party-DP challenges, Acholi Parliamentary Group to prevail over the matter.
Anthony Akol, the MP for Kilak North read part of the petition to UN Human rights officials.
During the commemoration of World Population Day hosted by Omoro district, Gilbert Olanya, the MP for Kilak South used the opportunity to request the Vice President of Uganda Edward Ssekandi to convey his message to the president asking him to intervene on the issues of Apaa land.
UNHR has not yet come out with its position on the petition the residents have tabled before it as the officials have reportedly been engaged in constant crisis meetings which the media has never been allowed to be part of. End
