The centenary of Anglican Church in Madi and West Nile Diocese, has achieved most of its five strategic objectives.
Isaac Anguyo, chairman central organizing committee, for the recent celebrations, attributes the success to the mass publicity by the media.
Anguyo made the remarks in a get together party for the media, organized by the centenary publicity committee
“One reason for celebrating was to help us to look back. Indeed, we achieved this through collection of the photographs, writing of books and I urge you to get a copy of the centenary book. To unite the church of Christ, and indeed, I was so excited to see the bishop of the catholic church of Arua diocese and his catholic friends sitting together with the other bishops.”
The other reason was to set the bench mark for the next centenary.
Canon Isaac Candia, the diocesan secretary praised the media for the generous contributions towards the success of the centenary
According to canon Candia, each media house in west Nile contributed on average over 10 million inform of airtime
Rt Rev Charles andaku, the Bishop of Madi and West Nile Diocese appreciated the Christians of Madi and West Nile Diocese for supporting the celebrations despite other overriding events in the diocese.
He noted that, the celebrations coincided with the consecration of the 7th bishop of Madi and West Nile Diocse, an emotional event that still needed the support of the same Christians.
The Bishop is determined that, the church of madi and westnile diocese will continue to implement some of the activities that resulted from the centenary celebrations. End
