Arua Municipal Council has sworn in nine out of fourteen members of taxi park lockup allocation committee ranging from Technical officers, Politicians and business community representatives.

Kalsum Fadimula the leader of Government business in the council presented the names in an extra ordinary council sitting for scrutiny and adoption. Jobile Cornelius has been sworn in as the chairperson of the fourteen man committee.

However, there were mixed reactions with some members suggesting the membership to be reduced in number. Later the council members then unanimously adopted the Executive committee report that led to the swearing in process.

However, the municipal mayor Isah Kato is okay with the composition of the members of this committee saying it’s a matter of law.

The Town Clerk Kassaja Jamirl cautioned the committee saying what they do will have an implication on the entire council.

Faraj Ramadan, the council speaker cautions the councilors not to interfere with the deliberations of this committee.

The committee is to issue and monitor allocation of the Lockups in the new taxi park which is expected to be completed in a period of two moths. End
