Some locals of Dzaipi sub county Adjumani district are demanding compensation from the central government.

They appeared before the resident judge of Arua high court.

The locals that included the former L.C three chairperson of Dzaipi sub county Makada Festo Loka are demanding for compensation for the loss of their property during the LRA insurgency in the area and said attempts made for compensation from the government were fruitless.

The locals said it’s the duty of the state to protect its citizens which in this case it did not perform.

They said property like livestock, houses, crops, and lives were lost.

The state represented by the state attorney pleaded for adjournment of the case.

The high court judge Anthony Oyuk Ojok then adjourned the case to 8th November 2018 to enable the defense verify information and cross examine witnesses from an informed point. End
