Education stakeholders in West Nile are calling for a deliberate strategy to embrace Information Communication Technology -ICT to enhance teaching and learning in Schools.

While addressing teachers and institution heads at an ICT conference in Muni University, Professor Christine Dranzoa urged the different stakeholders to take full advantage of the ICT centre in Muni University for capacity building.

The director of National Curriculum Development Centre -NCDC challenged the teachers to be the firsthand consumers of ICT knowledge in order to transmit it to the learners.

Rose Mary Oyollo, the regional education manager of Aghakan Foundation appealed to School Management Committees to sustain the pilot ICT facilities installed in the 75 Primary Schools across West Nile region.

Meanwhile Fr. Hillary Kago, principal of Lodonga Core Primary Teachers’ College called on the government to secure more ICT equipment in the remaining schools in the region.

The 1-day ICT conference was organized by Aghakan Foundation under the theme ‘Transforming learning through ICT’. End
