Royal Academy of Engineering has awarded two university students for being innovative.
This was organized as a support to Engineering students under Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers.
Racheal Atim, a fourth year student of Bachelors in Civil Engineering at Ndejje University won five million shillings for carrying out a research to Investigate the effect of curing time on durability performance of concrete using blended cement.
Anthony Asiimwe, a graduate in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Uganda Christian University equally received five million shillings for his design of improved cooking stove.
The Programs Coordinator of Uganda Support for Municipal Infrastructural Development -USMID under Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development Eng. Isaac Mutenyo was awarded with the Presidential Award 2018.
However, Arua RDC, Oyaa Rahori encourages the students to continue with their innovation to move forward.
These awards were given out during Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers under the theme ‘Unlocking the potential of Engineers to move Uganda forward’. END
