Buleni George one of the parents and LC1 vice Chairperson of Amanipi village says the teachers were found drinking during class hours in Lirikua trading center as the children were left playing in the classrooms.

Angurini Jackson the head teacher of the school says the teachers that were brought to his office left the school premises at about 10:30am strolling as if they were moving to purchase some items but to his dismay by up to 1:00pm the teachers had not returned to the school.

Angurini narrated that he then tried to call the deputy head teacher who coincidentally turned out to be one of the paraded teachers and he simply said they were finishing up a short program at the trading center and would return shortly. This was then followed by the drama of the parents parading the two teachers to the head teacher’s office.

Aniku Jackson the school management committee chairperson says last week he was at the school talking to the teachers about how they should best conduct themselves in public. He says he even further cautioned the teachers against alcoholism. Aniku says he is now surprised that shortly after his advise, a whole deputy head teacher is leading a teacher to a drinking spree during class hours.

Aliga Bonny the Sub County Chief of Oluffe ordered the two teachers to spend the remaining hours of the day in cells and then write apology letters to his office and copied to the various stakeholders. End
