The regional office of the Auditor General in Arua which is the oldest branch in the country is set to get a facelift after the official site handover and ground breaking ceremony to kick start works to construct an office block took place.

The Auditor General John Muwanga who was the chief guest at the event explained that there was a huge need to have the Arua office reconstructed.

Mandeep Singh the managing director Khalsa developments limited the contractor of the project says they hope to complete the works before the allocated period of twelve months

However the deputy Resident District Commissioner for Arua Alice Akello assured the project team of security in the region.

The Vice LC5 chairman Arua district local government Acema Dria Genesis says this project has come timely as Arua is fast becoming a city.

The new office building will be located where the old regional office of the Auditor General in Arua currently sits and this project just like that in Moroto district is being financed by the Ugandan government with support from the German government through KFW. The total cost of the project is 2.9billion shillings. End
