Police in Omoro district are investigating circumstances under which a girl killed her teenage colleague.
The suspect, a 16-year old resident of Opit Central Ward in Omoro Town Council, is under custody at Omoro Central Police Station. The suspected is said to have stabbed to death her 14-year old friend after a disagreement. According to reports, the two teenage girls had developed a quarrel over a boda-boda operator, prompting the suspect to stab the victim with a sharp knife on the neck. The victim died on spot. The duo was reportedly renting a house and staying together and both were bar attendants in Omoro town.
The local councilor for Opit Central, Charles Ochaya condemned the incident and cautioned all the LC1 chairpersons within Omoro Town Council not to admit girls who stay alone in their areas. He also warned bar owners against employing underage girls in their bars.
