The row over the disputed Palorinya sub county between Moyo and Obongi districts has deepened.

Moyo Resident District Commissioner William Bob Labeja has ordered the arrest of the Obongi county member of parliament Hon Hassan  Kaps Fungaroo for inciting local residents of Palorinya the newly created sub county out of itula in obongi  district over break away of Palorinya Sub County from Obongi district.

The Resident District Commissioner  made the statement following last week’s incident where 3 people were shot using bows and arrows, millions of money got lost and property destroyed during a clash between a section of community members who want to remain part of Moyo district and those who want to be  part of obongi district curved out of moyo district. The incident started when the area  member of parliament for  Obongi district visited the disputed Palorinya particularly Iboa parish where he intended to address a rally in the area which attracted the attention of locals who want to remain part of Moyo district asking Obongi team to leave claiming Iboa is not part of Obongi district.

While addressing the press Labejja said he has ordered for the arrest of Fungaro for causing violence in the community despite the fact that the law allows him to address his voters. He described the situation as uncalled for it is not yet clear if the leaders in the two districts of Moyo and Obongi are fighting over refugee management or creation of another constituency by names Nile constituency as it has been alleged to suit the interest of some politicians in West Moyo County or they have a hidden agenda.

According to Moyo District Police Commander steven Agaba the houses that were burnt belong to those who subscribe to remain in Moyo district. He said the situation has started to normalize following additional supply of man power from the center to contain the situation, Agaba added that 3 people have so far been arrested and detained at Moyo central police station awaiting completion of investigation for them to be produced in courts of law, he said as police they have  charged them for being armed and inciting violence.
