Some services have been halted in Arua Hill Division as the division struggles to get remitted local revenue from Arua Municipality.

The councilors in Arua Hill Division accuse the mother council of Arua Municipality of not remitting half of the collected local revenue to the two divisions as stipulated in the local government act.

Dickson Adomati a member of the general purpose committee of Arua Hill Division says if this situation continues, they will also stop the local revenue remittance from the division to the municipality.

Nolan buleni a senior councilor in Arua Hill Division wonders why this noncompliance is happening despite of the long term cooperation between the two town authorities.

However, the speaker of Arua Municipal Council Faraj Ramadhan calls this anomaly a delay.

The municipality claims that many of the tax payers and contractors delay in payment them.

It’s estimated that this money not remitted to the two divisions by Arua Municipality amounts to close 2 billion shillings. End
