Gulu Grade-One magistrate, Christine Turibamwe has further remanded to 19th February 2019 a young man for allegedly threatening to kill the LC 1 chairperson of Limo sub-ward, Agwee parish, Laroo division.

Denis Komakech 28 years commonly known as One-Five on 19/10/2019 at 2:40 pm allegedly insulted the leadership of the LC 1 chairman of Limo sub ward, Geoffrey Okello Lagara that he is very stupid and a useless leader. He then threatened to burn him in the house with petrol.

Francis Akera 36-years, a defense secretary for LC2 Agwee parish, Limo sub ward, Laroo division during his testimonies told court that he was around when Komakech came and directed his abuse on the LC 1 chairman.

He added that Komakech was first arrested on 12/10/2019 for stealing a solar penal, and a rolling bag, all properties of Fred Opiyo Ocira, but he was not brought before court because witnesses failed to turn up to testify at police since they were threatened. He was then released on 19th October 2019.

It was on this dated that he went straight after his release to abuse the LC 1 chairman and show him that he is out.

Komakech’s request for bail was rejected on condition that the life of the complainant is still at risk and his case is at a level which demands him to stay in custody for fear that he might run away.

Magistrate Turibamwe accordingly adjourned the matter to 19th February for Komakech to defend himself. End
