Koboko District: Five People including two Pastors who refer to them as Purpose For Life members, a new religion which seems to be emerging in Koboko are under Police Custody.

The five were arrested in a cave at Gbengi forest in Merino Parish Abuku Sub county in Koboko Districts on Friday 17th July 2020.

The Police identified the arrested people as: Omuno Fred Ronald a 31 years Langi from Apac District, Pastor Kibongwe John Bosco a 61 Lugbara, Pastor Atrici 47 years of Lugbara origin While Lillian Sharon 27 a South Sudanese and Aisha Fungaro a Kakwa of South Sudan origin were equally arrested by the Police during the operation.

The District Police Commander Koboko Assistant Superintendent of Police Abwang Samuel who confirmed the news revealed that,the Police is yet investigating the motives of the arrested people.

According to Swaibu Kenyi the Sub County Chairperson of Abuku the arrested people illegally found their way into the sub county on the account of evangelization in his opinion these are a faction of the Pentecostal church of Koboko.

Midia Sub county Chairperson Bran Acukule is worried because of the actions of people who want to use religion to manipulate the local population. He has called upon the local Population of Abuku and Midia Sub Counties to increase on their Vigilance as the incident which occurred within the Borderline posses a security threat to the two sub counties.

Recently, a section of religious leaders were arrested by Police over related issue. End
