Father Luka Amandua has been laid to rest. Thousands of mourners thronged Lodonga minor basilica to bid farewell to the deceased priest.

Bishop Sabino Ocan Odoki of the Diocese of Arua urged parents to send more children to the seminary. He stressed that’s it was an opportune time the young people to think about their vocation, especially the vocation to priesthood. He stressed on the need for more priests in the diocese to continue with the work of evangelization.

According to Adiga Lawrence Maracha district chairman, Fr Luka on his way to Maracha hospital met a young man Vito, but they got involved in an accident, both fell on the road side.

The chairman said the two were rushed to Maracha hospital after the incident but the young man died on arrival.

Arua Resident district commissioner Peter Dibele says there seemed to be no clear circumstances under which Fr Luka Amandua died.

Arua RDC called upon the district chairman and RDC Maracha to quickly look into the matter so that the doubts among the priests are cleared otherwise the government would be held accountable.

Dr. Andrew Vuni of Maracha hospital read the medical report, which stated that Fr Luka presented at the outpatient department with multiple head injuries especially the face, the right eye and the left side of the head.

He was conscience and able to stand for a while and lay down though he looked a bit confused. End
