Christians of Koboko catholic parish have commended Radio Pacis for promoting development and transformation. This was during the world communications day celebrations held in the parish.

Radio pacis celebrated world communications day 2017 in Koboko district especially at Our Lady of Fatima Koboko parish Centre.

Many Christians of the parish, people and the leadership of Koboko graced the celebrations which started with a holy mass led by the director of Arua Diocese Media Centre Fr Tonino co celebrated by the parish priest of Koboko parish Savior Nzia and the chapel of St Charles Lwanga College Koboko.

The local council three chairperson Koboko north division Aloro Peter Atibuni congratulates radio pacis for changing the lives of not only the people of West Nile, Uganda but Africa.

He says the radio has put the society in the right path using the educative programs, emphasizing that Radio Pacis supplements the efforts of the government in poverty alleviation among others.

The secretary social services Koboko municipality Adriko Daniel appreciated radio pacis for being a developer.

According to him radio pacis has contributed in the development of the nation in the areas of health education, sports agriculture and many others.

He is also grateful about the quality of staff the radio has; he says the staff have helped in transforming lives in the communities.

Arua Diocese Media Centre director Fr. Tonino Pasolini has over the years wanted to get a frequency for radio pacis in Kampala, this has not been so forth coming because of the congestion in the spectrum, making it impossible for Uganda Communications Commission UCC not to avail the radio  gave an update about the radio pacis frequency in Kampala.

He urged the leadership of Koboko to coordinate with other leaders at higher level to see into it that the government grants radio pacis another frequency in Kampala so that the sons and daughters of west Nile in the central can listen and benefit from the news and programs from West Nile.

The parish priest of Our Lady of Fatima Koboko parish Fr savior Nzia thanked the people of Koboko for voting that radio pacis celebrates world communications day at Koboko parish. He says the people of Koboko love radio pacis and listen to its programs.

Fr Savior appreciates the radio for supplementing on the works of the church through promoting the spiritual growth of the Christians.

Many listens and fans of radio pacis who registered for a raffle draw won goodies during the event ranging from branded radio pacis t shirts, kitenges.

The grand price of the raffle draw was a brand new phoenix bicycle that was won by Arach Rose Monica of Nebbi district.

Radio pacis program manager Ayikobua Noel called Arach Rose to inform her about her win; she could not hide her excitement on the phone sending the huge crowd in a loud applause.


As part of the radio Pacis strategic plan 2016 – 2021, a signature event that would form part of the operations and revenue generation calendar was recommended.

World communications day celebrations 28th of May 2017 and the 13th anniversary of Radio Pacis 25th October 2017 were identified

With 44 parishes in Arua diocese that had equal potential to host the world communications day celebrations, it was agreed that 2 Parishes will host the communications day event during Two (2) Sundays in the month of May 2017 of which Sunday 28th May 2017 will be the world communications day.

After a period of voting, Aripea emerged the first parish in the voting meaning they would host the mass on 28th May 2017, Koboko Parish came second that’s why they hosted the mass on 21st of May 2017.

However since Aripea parish has no priest, the celebrations will take place after the bishop sends priests to the parish. End
