Federation of Ugandan football association FUFA held an awards ceremony before crowning Kampala City Council Authority Football Club KCCA FC after the beat Paidha Black Angels Soccer Club 2 – 0 at the Green Light Stadium home of Onduparaka FC.

Radio Pacis was awarded the BEST radio in Uganda by FUFA for the coverage of the 2016/17 football calendar including the Uganda Cup.

Nyamua Walter a core management member at Radio Pacis, also a sport team member received the accolade. He dedicated the award to the listeners and fans of Radio Pacis sports.

There were more than 200 radios across Uganda doing the same coverage but Sabo Vincent Radio Pacis sports presenter is grateful to God for this great award.

He posted on his Facebook Vincent wrote: “I thank our fans and listeners for loving and supporting Radio Pacis Sports, together we can achieve more great things and I take my time to officially dedicate the award to you the listeners and fans and all my Facebook friends.

May God bless you as we keep moving forward, I will always consider your views and opinions positively”.
He continued his post by saying, “We did it and we all deserve the happiness together.
I also appreciate our local football administrators, fans and players as well. Together We Shall Develop”.

The program manager Ayikobua Noel received the award from the sports team; he reiterated the need to do more developmental sports through providing more information that can help the communities.

According to Fr. Ayiko Robert the acting chairman West Nile Region Football Association; Radio Pacis deserves the award because of the free airtime that they give for airing out the issues of local sports.

The accolade was presented to the staff of Radio Pacis during the Friday Staff meeting; the staff appreciated the team for the good work.

The Director Arua Diocese Media Centre Fr. Tonino Pasolini lauded the team for the award. He stressed that sports on the radio is used as a tool to hook the youth to eventually listen to other educative and developmental programs.
