The army has recovered three sub machine guns in Parombo town Council, Nebbi district. The guns were excavated by a group of women working in the garden near the home of a renowned former armed robber who died recently. They immediately alerted security.

Lt. Hassan Ahmed Kato, UDPDF spokesperson for West Nile Region says, a team of UPDF soldiers collected the weapons. He says they couldn’t recognize the registration number of the weapons that were found wrapped in decomposing polythene bags because they had started rusting.

Residents believe the weapons were hidden by the man commonly known as Para who died recently. The residents have been asked to be vigilant whenever working in their fields to prevent being injured or killed by unexploded ordinances.END
