Residents in Arua municipality have expressed concerns over the safety of water quality they consume.
These fears emerged days after the results of water quality analysis conducted by Arua Municipal Council indicated that some water sources within the municipality are not safe for human consumption.
The principal health inspector AMC Fuathum Norah says water consumers who depend on shallow wells and public stand pipes stand the greatest risk as they were found to have high E.coli counts.
Dr. Paul Onzubo, the municipal health officer however cautions residents to embrace water treatment before consumption as the absence of a functional sewage system contributes to water contamination.
The routine water quality analysis is carried after every 3 months by Arua Municipal Council to ascertain the safety & level of contamination of water sources. End
