The community around Arua Hospital agrees on the lagoon construction
The community around Arua Referral Hospital has granted permission for the construction of the hospital lagoon, after some intense negotiations with the committee set up the Ministry of Health.
Bishop Emeritus Fredrick Drandua is the chairperson of the committee.
The community has also agreed to withdraw the court injunction on the lagoon construction. However, the members urged Arua Municipal Council and district officials to move the lagoon closer to the hospital.
Last year, the community resorted to legal action on the lagoon issue after complaining of the location. The court granted an injunction on the construction, subsequently halting the operation of the fully constructed new medical ward.
