Primary schools across Arua City are in the final stages of preparing their Primary Seven (P.7) candidates for the upcoming Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) national exams. Following intense strategic meetings by head teachers to boost academic performance, schools are fine-tuning final revision sessions, conducting special prayer services, and giving final psychological encouragement to prevent panic among candidates.

Ann Janet Inzikuru, Head Teacher of Odravu Cope Primary School, states that all the necessary preparations are done from the side of school administration, teachers, and candidates ahead of the upcoming briefing and PLE Exams.
“We have 73 candidates who are well prepared to sit for the 2026 PLE next week, I expect all of them to sit for the PLE just as they did sat for mock examinations earlier, currently we are finalizing with revisions with candidates as the teachers have finished their syllabus coverage for the candidates and other things they are supposed to do with the candidates” she said.
William Atayo, Proprietor of Mighty of Grace Nursery and Primary School Adalafu, whose 11 candidates are sitting PLE for the first time since the school was established, expressed the readiness of the school and its first cohort of candidates sitting for the PLE ahead of briefing and PLE Exams.

The national countdown has narrowed down to the timeline issued in the official UNEB PLE Timetable. According to the guidelines issued by Arua City education department and UNEB, all head teachers, UNEB supervisors, and invigilators will be briefed on Wednesday.
The briefed head teachers will then brief the candidates on Thursday on the exam guidelines. On Friday, inspectors of schools will be briefed, along with UNEB scouts. The examinations are slated for next week, Tuesday and Wednesday.
To prevent exam center disqualifications, local school administrators are emphasizing strict compliance with UNEB directives. Calculators and mobile phones are strictly forbidden inside or near the examination rooms.
Candidates must arrive at the examination rooms by 8:30 AM for morning papers and 1:30 PM for afternoon papers. Head teachers have spent the final weeks auditing teachers to ensure complete syllabus coverage to eliminate “half-baked” performance.
