The newly appointed commissioner of Kajo Keji County has appealed to the displaced people to go back and clean their plots since the county is peaceful after a long spell of war.
He made the remarks in Kajo Keji County during a crusade that was organized by the diocese of Kajo Keji while praying for peace to return in the war torn area.
The three days crusade brought together youths from St Paul church of Uganda Moyo town parish, Gosene Parish Morobi Palorinya refugees settlement, Gosene church Juba and the entire community of Kajo Keji County.
David Lisi Christopher who by press time is three weeks in the position of the county Commissioner said there is no more war in Kajo Keji County so the refugees in the settlements across Uganda need to return and clean their plots which are now bushy. “Other areas are now bushy, there are no roads, let us come back home so that we cultivate, work for ourselves so that we will support the work of the diocese” David told the large congregation.
Meanwhile Rt.Rev. Dr. Lule James Kenyi the Bishop of the diocese of Kajo Keji said he has seen a sign of peace in the conflict affected area. “Am seeing relative Peace currently in Kajo Keji and also the entire Republic of South Sudan, I believe if we continue in this spirit that we are in, we will be able to see that people will retune” Bishop noted.
Lule added that anybody can go and see the country, after observing that the it is peaceful, one can decide to return to his or her country. “My Encouragement is that following the statement of the county commissioner, we can see currently relative peace in Kajo Keji County and we encouraged the displaced to come back home and settle,” the bishop stressed
Whereas Col Edward Jale the priest of St John Kimu Parish appealed to the people to clear their places and embark on cultivation such that they can have enough food. “Currently we can clear our land, and our own land, although there are other groups they are not horrible like the ones of those years” he said
