The Archbishop of Gulu Archdiocese, The Most Reverend Rafael P`mony Wokorach has created a new Eucharistic centre at St. Peter chapel Tochi under Immaculate Heart of Mary parish Lacor in Abuga sub county, Omoro district.
The prelate used the occasion to urge all the Christians to be holy stressing that this new Eucharistic centre should be a source of life to them.
“We are instituting this church into a Eucharistic centre and this means the body of “Christ” should be available every day here so from today on ward you will be getting Eucharist from here, so you should prepare your hearts and follow the rules because God needs us to have strong faith to follow this call,” he remarked.
He appealed to the Christians to take it as their responsibility to protect the Eucharistic centre and applauded everyone who supported the renovation of the church as it celebrates its centenary anniversary this year after it being built in 1924.

Fr Justine Loum the parish priest of Immaculate Heart of Mary Lacor said the creation of a new Eucharistic Centre comes as a big blessing to all the Christians of St. Peters chapel Tochi.
“Our Father, the archbishop is today instituting Tochi chapel into a Eucharistic centre so we should thank God for this as Christians, this is a blessing, the blessing that God is giving all of us,” he noted.
Catechist of Panyu St Mary’s Chapel David Olanya was entrusted by the parish priest of Immaculate heart of Mary Lacor and was given the responsibility of distributing Holy Communion to his fellow Christians by the Archbishop.
Catechist David Olanya was very happy for being entrusted to be the person who will be the one to give Holy Communion to other Christians.
“I am very delighted to get this new responsibility and I believe I will do it very well and better so that I help the children of God by feeding them with the body of Christ,” he said.
Isaac Ojok, the chairperson of St Peters chapel Tochi said that the Christians have been missing a lot because of the lack of a Eucharistic Centre.
“We had a lot of challenges before, many Christians are joining the sacrament but they were not receiving the body of Christ because our catechist sometimes lack bicycle to go and get holy communion and sometimes rain could also interfere, what happened today is something very good to us because Christians are now closer and they can receive the holy communion anytime, now that we have the eucharistic center we are going to make sure we keep it well,” he echoed.
This event was held under the theme “Trust in the Lord the giver of everything” taken from 1king 17:14.
