St. John Eucharistic center Amua chapel in Metu Catholic Parish Moyo Vicariate in Arua dioceses has raised three million four hundred twenty six thousand two hundred shillings (3,426,200=) for installation of solar panel and acquisition of public address system for the church.

The fundraising drive took place on early this month. The central organizing committee for the project had earlier planned about nineteen million for the system.

Mr. Taluga John the chairperson for the central organizing committee COC says this is aimed at evangelization.
“For the solar, we have planned to get seven million with its instalment then for the public address system around twelve million totaling to nineteen million.” Mr. Taluga said.

Mr Adrari Olego Constantine the chairperson finance and planning committee of Amua chapel says the fundraising drive is to amplify preaching during prayers and mass.

“As finance, planning and administration committee we have discovered that many times, our preachers are not heard clearly in the church simple because other have low voices and individual nature so we want to ensure that we amplify their voices so that every person in the church is heard clearly.”  Mr Adrari said.

The fundraising was graced by holly mass lead by Rev. Marvin Adriko the curate for Metu parish. In his homily he tipped Christians to support the church.

“Let us support the church with our all heart, our strength and resources because that’s the way we are carrying Christ to others so that is what Jesus Christ wants us to do, a moving Christianity, an active Christianity.” Rev. Marvin preached.

Amua chapel was established in 1934 as chapel and elevated to Eucharistic center in 1993 and now it’s a zone center with two chapels.
