RESIDENTS AGREE TO DISBAND NOTORIOUS GANG GROUP IN EDIOFE TRADING CENTRE AFTER MOB ACTION

Residents of Ediofe trading center have disbanded Manya Boys a notorious criminal gang group that has been terrorizing Ediofe trading center and its surrounding areas, the recent one being the murder of Izizinga John a resident of Ewanyapa cell where the trading center is located.
 
On Saturday, February 15, 2025, during the trading centre security meeting, residents announced that a notorious criminal gang group called Manya Boys are responsible for a series of attacks in Ediofe trading center and the resolved that the group should be disbanded.
 
Michael Baiga the newly elected Ediofe trading center chairman called on the residents to be proactive in protecting themselves and one another.
 
“This came after one of the resident of this trading center was murdered on Thursday (February 13, 2025) morning, then the community got concerned and annoyed, saying their members cannot be killed like that, this is someone who lives with us here, he was alive in the evening but he was found dead in the morning so we want to say no to such actions,” he said.
 
Johnson Drani SK a resident of Ediofe since 1991 explained that Manya Boys having been attacking innocent citizens and rob them of money and other belongings.
 
“This group called Manya Boys should be disbanded from Ediofe trading center because what they do doesn’t give credit to the community of Ediofe, we urge them to change or face the law and any person who doesn’t dance to this tune, police guided us to arrest them to be handed over to the police,” he said.
 
Paul Andioku Aguta the councilor representing the people of Komite ward to Ayivu division expressed concern over some people looking on as a fellow member of the public is being attacked by the criminals.
 
Arnold Arinaitwe the Division Police Commander of Ayivu West blamed local leaders for supporting the Criminals and urges the public to cooperate to combat such criminal activities effectively.
 
“I am not a politician and I have not come here to romance I am also annoyed I must say, the way you people are annoyed that police are doing nothing we are also annoyed we are doing nothing I am not happy because these Manya boys have taken time here at Ediofe trading center yet we know the source as communities and we are keeping quiet about it because they are our children, even up to the extent of our leaders involving themselves in this, we have the information it is just a matter of time” he warned.
