SECURITY OPERATIVES COMMEND MADI SUB REGION FOR PEACEFUL EASTER CELEBRATION

Police in North West Nile region have commended the citizens in for the peaceful Easter celebration.
According to the security organs, this has been one of the peaceful festivities without serious criminal cases recorded in the four districts that makes up the sub region Sub region.
In a report from the North West Nile region police spokesperson SP Dragudu Ignatius the festivities had no criminal records.
“In the whole of North West Nile region, we have not received serious criminal cases registered during the Easter festivities. All over the four districts starting from Adjumani, Moyo, Obongi and Yumbe as people celebrated the Easter peacefully” Dragudu noted.
He said that, that should be the way to go as he appealed to the public to maintain the spirit.
Meanwhile the assistant Deputy RDC Moyo Ambama Julius Nyerere applauded the public for maintaining peace in the celebration of Easter and appeals to the public to engage in government programs.
“My humble appeal to all our Christians and the Muslim brothers in other faith is, let’s continue to deliver this peace and engage in other government programs more so in wealth creation which our president is championing ” Julius noted.
Samuel Hashaka Mpimbaza the Resistance district commissioner of Obongi attributed the successful celebrations, joint efforts, continuous awareness and sensitization coupled with deployment of security forces.
“We also sensitized the public on security consciousness and we also cautioned the community against over drinking because drinking causes a lot of insecurity in that people end up fighting but most importantly, the people are security conscious and were careful as they celebrated Easter,” Hashaka noted.
Most criminals take advantage of festivities to commit crime but over time security has taken note and deployed to prevent and any planned criminal activities that has led to reduction of crimes.
