Kenya on 9th August 2022 voted to determine the fifth president of Kenya and another 2 thousand leaders for various political offices. As many hope the polls end peacefully, they also pray for a decisive victory, which will not only avoid extra expenditure on a rerun but also end the tension and anxiety as soon as possible.  A look at the office bearers scheduled for election in Kenya shows that the difficult campaign and the final election exercise will produce 2 thousand leaders, as opposed to about 360 thousand leaders for Tanzania and about 1.5 million in Uganda. In the election, four president candidates sought to replace Uhuru Kenyatta. Former Prime minister Raila Odinga, Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate who lost previous four elections says this time it’s his victory,
Odinga’s running mate, Martha Karua, a former MP is also optimistic of victory.

However, roots party presidential candidate Professor George Wajackoyah was frustrated with delayed voting in his hometown Kakamega. Professor Wajachoyah said this was a form of irregularity in the voting, In this election, Kenya's Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, has budgeted for a possible re-run of the presidential elections. This was done to avoid a repeat of the shock the Treasury suffered in 2017 when a surprise fresh election was announced following a court ruling.
