Business has slowed down around Bunagana Border on the Ugandan side in Kisoro District due to fighting between M23 rebels and Congolese government soldiers. The business community say the clashes have taken a huge toll on their businesses.   On Monday, M23 rebels took control of the Bunagana border in Rutshuru territory, North Kivu province, after Congolese forces, the Democratic Republic of Congo fled to Uganda.

Hussein Kato, a truck driver wants the Congolese government to mediate with the rebels to enable their business to resume. Enock Matovu another truck driver says that he is uncertain if the cement he is transporting will reach D.R Congo since all the buyers are in hiding. The fighting has forced thousands of refugees to flee to the Ugandan side.
