ARUA CITY WELCOMES NEWLY APPOINTED ASSISTANT RESIDENT CITY COMMISSIONERS.

Following the recent appointments of assistant Resident District Commissioners and Assistant Resident City Commissioners by the office of the president, Arua city on Tuesday 23rd April 2024, welcomed the new appointees to the city where they are expected to commence with their duties.

Speaking during a reception meeting to welcome the new appointees, Charles Ichogor, the Resident city commissioner Arua says these appointments are a huge boost that will allow them take on other roles. “We are going to work as a team, I am very sure that we are going to deliver Arua city to greeter heights,” Ichogor assured.   

Mbigiti Godfrey the deputy Resident City Commissioner in charge of Ayivu division says this appointment is timely for his Area of operation,” he explained.
According to Ham Ezama Mizamil the deputy RCC in charge of Arua there have been gaps in playing their roles due to the large population of the city that he thinks can be addressed by the new appointments. “Arua central is a Cosmopolitan place. Mobilization has been a problem because the population is huge and people have different cultures. We expected these appointments to happen ant it has happened. Much as we have been having some challenges, the team has come to work with us to close some of the gaps that have been existing,” Ezama said

Poly Ongom the newly posted assistant RCC Ayivu division pledges commitment to work with the locals. Asked if his appointment does not mean duplication of services and away of silencing him for being too vocal against leaders, Job Richard Matua, the newly appointed Assistant RCC for Arua Central division argues that, it’s the need for better services that has led to his appointment.

The main tasks of the RCC and RDCs with their deputies and assistants is to fight corruption, promote patriotism and mobilize the mass towards embracing government programs.

Next month the newly appointed assistant RDCs and RCCs are expected to be camped at Kyankwanzi for a 2 weeks induction on their roles.
