MOYO VENDORS OCCUPY THE NEW MAIN MARKET

Moyo.

It was all excitement from venders to their customers on Friday 19th of April, 2024 when Moyo town council opened up the new main market for venders to occupy the spaces allocated for full operation of the market.

When radio pacis visited the market on the opening day, many of the venders who talked to our news room expressed their gratitude for starting new life of business in the town which they said has collected venders at one place and would improve their sells. “I now see real development in moyo district” said one of the Venders. “I’m so happy for having a new market and that shows that moyo is really now progressing” Another said.

The town council has slated every Friday to be a market day in the New market space.  To some of the customers met at the market, the new market has brought new idea of orderliness in the business of sell.

Mrs. Maliama Stella one of the customers who was got from the market commended the town council for the initiative and said it is now easy for them to sort out goods of their choice. “Now we customers don’t get confused like before, you just come buy your goods easily and get back home early.” Mrs. Maliama said

On the opening day the market attracted people beyond the district with some traders coming from Adjumani, obongi and greater part of west Nile. 

Hon. Chandiga Ceaser the town council chairperson after touring the market on the opening day applauded the venders for cooperating with town the council authorities and said they will stick to their plan of bringing all venders to the new market. “We want to drive all business related to market to the new market, from next week we shall start demolishing the old market which will leave space for establishing a new modern tax park.” Hon. Chandiga said.
He also congratulated the venders for making to the new market and asked them to cooperate with the relevant authorities.

Moyo town main market has been constructed under USIMID project to provide enough space for venders in the town since the old market space is grown small due to the increase of population in the town.
