ASSISTANT RDCs and RCCs PLEDGE TO SUPPORT FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION IN WEST NILE

The newly appointed Assistant Resident District Commissioners and Assistant Resident City Commissioners deployed in West Nile have pledge support to other stakeholders in the fight against corruption at Local Governments as one of their key roles.

Former Maracha District Public Accounts Committee Chairperson and contestant for the district’s Woman MP Seat in 2021 general election, Judith Bako, hopes to use the same strategy in previous office to make contribution in fighting corruption. “Because fighting corruption is of the key roles that I am supposed to do as Assistant Resident District Commissioner, I want to pledge my total commitment in fighting corruption. Actually I am already in the race” she commits.

Madi-Okollo District NRM Youth Chairperson, Tonny Abeka Anyarach who is appointed as Assistant District Resident District Commissioner for the district says, he will focus on patriotism as it will enable citizens change behavior. “First of all, I will ensure that the aspect of patriotism is fully understood and embraced in Madi-Okollo District. Secondly (Corruption), I will see into it that all government projects which are fully funded succeeds; money should be put into right place” Abeka explains.

However, General Secretary of National Chamber of Commerce Arua branch, Munduni Rose is appointed as Assistant Resident District Commissioner of Terego. He prioritizes mobilization and team to end bad vices in the district. “I really pledge that am going to do my level best in order to do community policing and community service to reach the local population and in the areas of education,  health and generally how we can improve our livelihood” he said.

Others appointed in the region include Matua Jobe Richard as Assistant Resident City Commissioner of Arua Central Division and Collins Dramani as Assistant Resident District Commissioner of Maracha among others.

Office of the President appointed more than 300 assistant commissioners across the country who will closely work with Resident District Commissioners and Resident City Commissioners. Their main roles include, fighting corruption, promoting patriotism and mobilization of community to support government programs.
