GULU ARCHDIOCESE PREPARES FOR PRIESTLY ORDINATIONS

The preparations for the forthcoming priestly and deaconate ordinations scheduled for 3rd August, 2024 at St Joseph’s Cathedral Parish Gulu are in full gear.
The ordination will be under the theme:” For nothing is impossible with God, Luke 1:37”
Six deacons are set to be ordained priests and six seminarians will be ordained deacons.
Wallace Thadeus, a Christian at St. Joseph`s Cathedral parish Gulu say this particular time requires a lot of support from the parents and the Christian community as a whole so that the priestly and deaconate candidates feel loved and recognize that they made the right choice for the people of God that they are going to administer to for the rest of their lives on earth as ordained ministers of God.
The chancellor and diocesan treasurer of the Archdiocese of Gulu, Rev Fr Martin Agwee revealed that, at least 46,776,500 million shillings is required to facilitate this function where he appeals to all the faithful and people of good will to support this event the same way they did during the installation of Archbishop Raphael P’mony Wokorach.
Rev. Fr. Michael Lawrence Komakech, the chairperson central organizing committee extends invitation to all Christians to attend this function and be a witness. “Come and let’s thank God together for the gift of the vocation of new priests and deacon,” he said.
The holy mass will start at 10:00am and the main celebrant will be Archbishop Raphael P’mony Wokorach together with Archbishop Emeritus Dr. John Baptist Odama.
The six deacons, are Deacon Peter Ojara from Kitgum Mission Parish, Deacon Geoffrey Rackara for Pader Town Parish, Deacon Felix Opio Odwong from Kitgum Mission Parish, Deacon Derick Okidi from Pajule Parish, Deacon Emmnauel Okello from Puranga Parish and Deacon Felix Bongomin from Gulu Cathedral Parish.
The six seminarians who will be ordained as deacons are Seminarian Allan Felix Torach from Holy Rosary Parish, Seminarian Augustine Oloya from Namukora Parish, Seminarian Erick Acellam from Lacor Parish, Seminarian Robert Odong from Paicho Parish, Seminarian Geoffrey Rackara from Gulu Cathderal Parish and Seminarian Polycarp Okema from Pajule Parish.
