THE WAIT IS OVER: RESIDENTS OF ARUA CITY ANTICIPATE THE CONNECTION TO THE NATIONAL GRID WITH GREAT CONTENTMENT

The West Nile sub-region, comprising 13 districts, has finally bid farewell to decades of unreliable power supply.

As the region prepares for the official commissioning of the Kole-Gulu-Nebbi-Arua transmission project, residents hailing from arua city have express excitement over the connection of westnile to the national grid.

Palmer Amayoru appreciates the connection saying work will be eased for the different sector that have been grappling with electricity challenges. "Before we were connected to the national grid we had a lot of challenges of power we would have a lot of work especially we who are dealing in the welding business where we need a lot of power, when our machines are overloaded sometimes it causes problems with the meter and also other business entities like the hospital and health center will benefit and I hope that with this national grid the power is going to be stable."

Amuros vibes operating a Music library says he is expecting reliable power that will boast economic growth in the region. "Actually it will help us we people who use power and my expectations are big that probably we won’t be suffering from power blackout but reliable power like it is in the central region."

Vincent Anguyo a market vendor urges the people to now work harder with the new development. “I want to appreciate the fact that Arua  is finally is going to be connected to the national grid  as westnilers we have been grappling with power issues so much and    WENRECO was not doing well,   now am happy that  our business are going to improve , I also want to appreciate the president  for  fulfilling   his promise when he said that he would connect Arua to the national grid  and now people’s cry to be connected to the national grid has been answered now I want to encourage our people to work hard since the power challenge has been sorted.  God has answered our prayers we are so happy.”
 
The districts of Adjumani, Arua City, Arua, Koboko, Maracha, Terego, Madi-Okollo, Moyo, Nebbi, Pakwach, Terego, Yumbe, and Zombo will now benefit from a stable and reliable power supply. This development is expected to transform the region’s economy, businesses, and residents’ quality of life.
