Arua City Resident Commissioner, Kumakech Salim and his team have held a community baraza in Pangisa Ward, Arua Central Division on November 18, 2024.

The Resident City Commissioner and his entourage comprising of the two deputy RCCs of central and ayivu divisions, assistant RCCs, the community development officer, and the principle town agent of Pangisa Ward had an interactive engagement with the residents about government programs and security status of the area.

While raising their grievances to the RCC and the team, the residents raised concern on the alarming cases of insecurity in the area (Azia and Abia cells) where criminal gangs terrorize residents and road users as early as 7pm and pleaded for the immediate intervention of the security.

The residents also complained about the criteria of the accessibility of PDM funds where sometimes they take long to receive the funds and some unusual discrepancies and bureaucracy schemes by the PDM board and PDC.

Speaking to the residents, the RCC thanked the residents for being so open about the issues affecting them, hence it's from them that they will get to know their grievances and promised to intervene.

He tasked the residents to be vigilant about issues of security as they are the prerequisite to curbing criminality because it's them who know the wrong elements in the community and urged the residents not to harbor and keep quiet over the wrong elements.

The Commissioner promised to follow up with the principal town agent of Pangisa Ward about the discrepancies in the PDM and rallied the residents to embrace the program to get out of poverty as poverty is one of the greatest challenges a human being can face in this world and ironically suggested that the only way to get out of poverty is hard work and challenged the residents to work hard.

Expressing gratitude for the unique modes of operation the residents applauded the office of the president represented by Mr. Kumaketch Salim for being passionate about community development and issues affecting the local people and prayed for him to continue with his unique system of working with the people he's serving.
