Road users together with nearby communities are demanding for explanations from political and civil leaders on why the Enyau Bridge project has stagnated living the road inaccessible.

The chairperson for elders Isaac Kani expressed his disappointment at the unfinished project saying, "ministry has made it good to construct a bridge over Enyau river but it was a bad luck where by shoddy work was done and worst still not even completed up to date, they are supposed to do back feeling but nothing was done and this made the road inaccessible, even top leaders failed to give feedback to the residents.”

Vurra sub county local council III chairperson Pario Joel said, “Enyau bridge, these are the high bridge projects that is, enyau 1 and enyau 2 under USMID project, when you follow deeper they said, that was the design of the project you now see engineer sits in Kampala they make anything they want after all it's government money, when you cross there, you will not use the bridge. CAO made communication to the secretariat because as per what they have given to the contractor, he has finish his work. So we cannot blame him now we blame the people who designed the project, I request us to wait for the communication from the secretariat, and otherwise nobody can access the bridge."

The bridge connects communities to Odia Trading Centre, Nile high secondary school, Okufura secondary school, Andelizu Trading centre and Congo boarder as well.

The initial project period for the two bridges that were set to cost a combined figure of over 5 billion Ugandan shillings was 8 months.

Before the end of last year an extension was made from August until December 31, 2024 before USMID extended the all their projects by 6 months into this year.
