Ajaga primary school remained close following misunderstanding between head teacher and management leaving.
Over 1800 pupils are stranded as term one begins.
According to some parents who preferred not to be identified, this misunderstanding is coming following the loss of over 3 million shilling PTA funds which is suspected to be misused by Okuti Patrick Mawa the head teacher of Ajaga primary school.
By press time at around 10; 30 am on Monday, none of the pupils was at school following this misunderstanding.
Speaking to our reporter on Monday, Jasper Okori, the deputy head teacher said out of total of 1843 only 49 pupils reported on day one and all of them escaped before lunch time due to hunger.
About the head teacher who was absent, Okori said he did not receive any official communication from him, urging parents to support school feeding program.
Addressing press at his office, David Adea, the district education officer of Oyam confirmed this matter highlighting that they have scheduled a meeting at Minakulu Catholic parish as a foundation body to settle the issue.
About the transfer of Okuti, Adea said this is not true.
Christ Ongom, the vice chairperson LC5 of Oyam district revealed that over 12 head teachers in Oyam have issues with their school urging DEO and CAO not to effect their transfer before their issues are settled.
Sam Openy, inspector of schools in charge of North, said term one opened with low turn up of learners in most schools for example at Wigwen primary there was no pupil in P7 and P5, at Acaba primary school there were only two children in P7, however he stated that private schools have very good turn up as of day one.
Additionally, Openy reveal that theft of school property were among the major challenges registered in many schools calling upon community neighbouring schools to help teachers in protecting their property and other school properties.
