Speaking at the same event Ezaru Lucy the Education officer of Ayivu Division urged government to support the Special needs learners with the necessities needed to aid their learning.
“We are facing a challenge of assisting devices for the unit section, so if you could also go back and help us lobby to support this section, learners of special needs education in terms of white canes that would still help for visual impairment in the unit section. I would request that if we join hands together, we embrace the quality of education then at the end of it all it will benefit our region.”
This comes as the learners with special needs face challenges with joining the secondary school as there is no special needs Secondary school in the area where they can join for further studies.
