The construction of the 3.5 billion Arua diocese pharmaceutical warehouse being undertaken by China Huang Pai machinery has reached the roofing stage placing the project the works at around 75 percent of works done.
The roofing works of the main ware house currently stands at 40 percent while the roofing of other structures that are [part of the project like the offices, restaurant and main gate are as well set to be done within the same week as all the roofing materials are already on at site.
Herman Rubangakene the site manager for the project on behalf of the contractor says that all is in place to execute the project to its completion.
“Roofing can be done in the next 2 to 3 weeks because the structure is a bit complex, the warehouse is big, the trashes are heavy and so it requires that we need to give the team some ample time. We wouldn’t want to make mistakes since this is a public facility. We are trying to be as careful as possible to ensure accuracy in putting our works. On our own side, we ourselves have pressure because we want to finish the work as soon as possible. We are doing our best to use as minimal time as we can,” he said in an interview.

Benard Awic, the Management Consultant for Arua diocese who is responsible for overseeing the project on behalf of the diocese acknowledges the initial delays but expresses hope of the works being well accomplished.
“Overall, there is great progress with the works that have already taken place. And there is just minimal that is left to get this work completed. We are very optimistic that within the next couple of months we should be able to have this project handed over to the diocese. From observations, there is no deviation from the design by the contractor, the works is going as scheduled on the approved plans and design as per budget scope and timeline with all other factors remaining constant,” he said.
“According to our plans and budget there is no challenge that we have in terms of having adequate resources for the works to get done. The resources are adequate as planned to get this work completed,” Awic added.
