BALANCE POLITICS WITH PRODUCTION, LEADERS TELL COMMUNITIES

As most political parties and politicians prepare for 2026 election with primary elections taking place this year 2025, a section of community members in Moyo district have cautioned the people to balance political activities with their productive activities to maintain the economic livelihood in their families.
Mr. Robert Drajuruga Morris managing director for Asanti education consults says if not balanced well, the election season would be a confusing time jeopardizing production.
“You get a father running after a politician, a mother even children, yes politics is part of us and we have to engage in politics but let’s engage meaningfully so that we don’t regret because when you vote this leader you are giving a job,” Mr. Drajuruga said.
Equally Mr. Ivu Jimmy Dego the Executive Director for clinical school of health service in Moyo district cautioned the people to first mind their family duties.
Communities will be attending to daily political rallies of politician, however Hon. Dulu Samuel the local council 3 chairperson Otce Sub County says people should embrace government programs and continue with production than running after politicians.
“Vision 2040 is the ambitious vision of the government but the government begins with the households, we should not always think it is the role of local government or national planning authority that’s why government came up with strategies ensuring every household benefit under the Parish Development Model (PDM), lets us take this opportunity to make sure we produce for market,” Hon. Dulu added.
Uganda will elect their new leadership at different political levels in 2026 with much of the political activities including nominations, campaigns and other electoral activities taking place his year.
