The Bishop Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki, took the opportunity to announce new appointments within the diocese in the office of the judicial vicar, leading to a new assistant pastoral coordinator, and making changes in Oli parish and Maracha parish.
“At the moment our judicial vicar has gone for studies, so today I have appointed Father Teri Madrua to be the judicial vicar, and Fr Teri was the assistant pastoral coordinator so now that position is vacant, so I would like to appoint Fr Felix Epima to be the assistant pastoral coordinator, Fr Felix Epima was the parish priest of Oli so am appointing Msgr Primus Asega as the acting parish priest of Oli parish and the last one am making a change in Maracha vicariate, the current episcopal vicar has served for long and has reached age of retirement, Msgr. Mathias Miria we thank you, I would like to appoint new episcopal vicar for Maracha and that is Fr Godfery Alionzi,” Bishop Odoki announced.
The bishop also called upon the priests to reflect, on the commitments to God’s the ministry.
“It is a teamwork the bishop doesn’t work alone, the priest don’t work alone but as a team because Jesus’ ministry is a teamwork, that’s why we promise obedience to work together in the dioceses with the bishop, the situation we are sent to work in is not easy one but still God demands us to continue to do what we can do, we are chosen, consecrated, anointed for this,” he revealed.
During the liturgy of the Chrism Mass, the priests are called to renew promises and their vow of obedience and their commitment to serve God’s people.
