DP LAUNCHES OFFICE IN MARACHA, PLEDGES CLOSER ENGAGEMENT WITH SUPPORTERS

The Democratic Party (DP) has officially launched its office in Tara Sub-County, Maracha District, marking a significant milestone in its efforts to strengthen its presence in the region. The launch, held on April 26, 2025, at Tara Primary School, drew a large crowd of dignitaries and supporters from across the country.
Alitia Elia, DP Vice President for Northern Uganda, emphasized the importance of establishing party offices in every constituency to achieve their targets. "We are committed to ensuring that our supporters have access to our services and support," Elia said. "This office will serve as a hub for our activities in the district, and we urge our top administration to open offices in every constituency."
Gerald Blacks Siranda, Secretary General of the DP and a member of the East African Legislative Assembly, reiterated the party's commitment to going closer to its supporters. "We want to ensure that our supporters feel our presence in their communities," Siranda said. "This office is a step in the right direction, and we will continue to work towards improving our engagement with our supporters.
Meanwhile, Hon. Adong Sarah, Deputy Women League President, expressed her excitement about the launch, highlighting the party’s effort to empower women to improve its effectiveness. "Our main goal is to serve our members and supporters effectively, we believe that this office will enable us to do just that, and we look forward to working closely with our communities."
Kasirye Fred Zzimula, LC5 Chairman of Kassanda District and a DP member, emphasized the importance of improving effectiveness wherever party members are. "As a party, we are committed to serving our members and supporters to the best of our ability," Zzimula said. "This office will enable us to do just that, and we are excited about the opportunities it presents."
The launch of the DP office in Tara Sub-County is seen as a significant step in the party's efforts to strengthen its presence in Maracha District and beyond.
