Maracha District Local Government driver commits suicide under unclear reasons.

Police in Arua district have commenced with investigations in to a suspected death by suicide of a driver of Maracha District Local Government.
The deceased identified as Adiba John, aged 30 resident of Ajono-yivu village, Eruba parish, Vurra sub county Arua district, was found handing lifeless on a rope tied to a mango tree on the family compound early morning around 7:00Am by one of his bothers on 18th January 2023.

Confirming the incident, Superintendent of Police Josephine Angucia the police spokesperson for West Nile region says, the motive of the alleged suicide is not yet known as the police continues with investigations. “It was reported by a brother to the deceased who woke up to see the deceased hanging on a mango tree on 18th January 2023. The police visited the scene documented it and recorded statements from people at the scene before the deceased’s body was taken to Arua regional referral hospital for postmortem. The police retrieved the motor vehicle number LG 0316-03 of Maracha district which the deceased used to drive from the scene which has since been parked at Arua district police station pending inquiries in to the matter under Vurra police station CRB13/2023,”Angucia confirmed. She cautions the public against withholding pressing issues in which they could be helped other than taking away their own lives. “As enquiries in to the matter continue, members of the public are advised to treasure life including their own and share challenges with trusted people for advice as well as seek for counseling I times of frustration” she appealed.
