IRRITATED RESIDENTS CAST-OFF PARISH PDM SACCO LEADERS IN TEREGO

Residents of Olea Parish in Katrini sub county, Terego district have unanimously rejected the leaders of PDM of the Parish by electing new ones over alleged incapacity to do the work. In an annual general meeting held on August 10, 2024, the angry residents noted that, many people in other Parishes in Terego have received PDM fund but it is not the case in this Parish accusing the leaders over the matter.
The Parish chief for Olea Parish Mr. Ajiga Tom who chaired the meeting to elect new leaders purported that, the former leaders were also not cooperative with him by not signing obligatory loan application forms well-timed. “Many people in this Parish would have by now received the fund. I therefore, ask you the newly voted leaders to liaise with me such that, beneficiaries can on receive the money timely” noted the Parish Chief.
Meanwhile, Stephen Adiga, the newly elected Olea Parish PDM Sacco chairperson called for solidarity amongst both the elected front-runners and the members of the community. “Let’s work in unison and you should not be afraid to point out errors that I might do, and if you point them out, I will correct myself and service delivery will be evidently effective” said Stephen.
However, Jonathan Agani, the general secretary for Olea PDM Sacco promises to do the needful for the people in this area, “To me, the election which has taken place is okay because, the ex-leaders were not working well, some of them were harassing people much but what I feel and I am going to do is to be united with people and work together with them” said the general secretary.
The Parish Development Model is a government strategy eradicating poverty in households at the Parish level as the lowest economic planning unit.
