In a bid to make learners live productively and busy during the second term holiday for 2024 academic year, Katrini Catholic Parish in Terego district has organized football tournament for eight chapels in the Parish.
Cat Gerald Afadriayo, the youth coordinator in this Parish is optimistic that, the tournament will bring many positive changes amongst the youths in the area. “I have decided to organize this tournament in order to bring together all the youths in the Parish which will act as an example for the idle ones leaving outside there,” stated Gerald.
However, Samson Otitaa, the Parish youth chairperson discloses that, “We have already started realizing changes in our area like these days no unnecessary fights, the youth are staying in groups and this has categorically brought so many developments in various chapels in the Parish,” revealed Samson.
Meanwhile, Godfrey Angunduyo, one of the youths in this Parish highly appreciates this organization stating that, it is the easiest way to bring youths together and educate them.
“I am very pleased of the tournament because we as youths, we are happy of such plays, and if we come together like this, we can be told what to do right in order to make us become better persons,” said Godfrey.
A sport activity like football teaches important life skills such as teamwork, communication, leadership and time management.
