LAROPI TOWN COUNCIL LAYS DRAFT BUDGET FOR FINANCIAL YEAR 2025/2026

Laropi town council in Moyo district has laid a draft budget of shs. 87,857,577 for financial year 2025/ 2026.
58,000,000 representing 66% of the sum budget is expected from the local revenue mobilization within the town council, Local government shs. 18,250,120 representing 21% is from urban unconditional grant, central government shs. 4,720,906 representing 5% is from urban DDEG.
In the allocations, Administration is taking the lion share of 26,658,656, finance department to take 17,539,652, statutory requirements shs. 14,804,468, production 7,434,000, Health 2,533,731, education 1,420,000, natural resources 4,529,240, CBS 2,674,000, Planning 4,120,924 and work 6,140,906 Ugandan shillings.
While presenting the budget before the council, Hon. Tiondi Luga David the secretary for finance and economic planning said, section 78 of the local government act mandates local government to preparer and lay the budget before the council.
“Draft budget estimate for revenue and expenditure for each financial year and later approve and executed their budget and plan their budget are balanced, it’s on this basis that I present the discussed draft budget estimate for Laropi town council for the financial year 2025/26 to be approved,” he said.
Drale Kerubine, a member in the finance committee welcomes the strategic objectives saying it helps to identify sources of revenue and sufficiently collect such revenues for its use.
As Administration took the lion share, Agacara Emmanuel the speaker to the council said projects that monitored under the monitoring budget is on administration where allowances for SDA falls.
