Over three hundred skilled graduates have been passed out by Arua Technical Institute Ragem(ATIR) in seven different academic disciplines during the institution’s 4th graduation ceremony held on August 21, 2026 at the institute.
The graduation had 164 graduates in the 2023/2024 academic year and 146 graduates in the 2024/2025 academic year totaling to 310 individuals who acquired technical and vocational education and training (TVET) skills in automotive mechanics, electrical installation system, fashion and design, plumbing, wood work technology, building construction and machininery and fitting national certificate courses.
Francis Omoo, the principal of the institution appreciated the stakeholders for their dedication attributing the significant improvement in the performance of the trainees to their efforts,
“The management together with the board in 2022 had drawn its strategies and these strategies have made the institution what it is today. The trainees who come here have been able to pass highly, as you have seen the lowest grade we had for the two cohorts was 3.8 whereas the highest was a CGP of 4.97. This shows that there has been a tremendous improvement in the academics of the institution,” Omoo noted.

Msgr. Charles Idraku, the Director of Radio Pacis who was the chief guest at the function cautioned the graduates to bring dynamic change to the world.
“You are being groomed to be people who bring dynamic change to the world, dynamic change for yourselves, and dynamic change for this country. That is what you have been groomed to do,” Msgr. Idraku said.
“It’s not an easy task and therefore take what you have been instilled and make it practical. Don’t let the practical component remain here and be holistic,” he added.

On his part, His worship Mallon Avutia, Ayivu division mayor noted that, “As soon as you step out of here, don’t go and stay home, nobody will call you for job. For those of you who have done mechanics, there are those who are bicycles repairers, motorcycle repairers, there are those in the garages. They can give you more skills, now that time will come when they will now be looking for the actual trained person, you will then go and collect your papers from the house,” Avutia advised.

“I need not to sit on these skills, I need to expose it out for the people to know about. I currently deal in garments and I know everyone puts on clothes, people should come and support us,” Yiki appealed.
Themed “Enhancing social-Economic Transformation through TVET Skills”, the graduation marked a significant milestone to both the graduates and the institution in contributing to the social-economic transformation and development of the country through skills.
