Moyo District Local Government Chairperson, Hon. Williams Anyama, and the area Member of Parliament, Hon. Aleru Tom Aza, have declared their intention to solemnize their marriages in the church and have requested prayers for God’s guidance to fulfill their long-term dream.

The two leaders made their announcement during a popular mission organized by Moyo Catholic Parish last week.

Speaking at the closure of the mission prayers on Saturday, February 8, Hon. Anyama acknowledged that he had previously blamed external factors for the delay in his church wedding but had now realized that he was the one holding himself back.

“I used to say that it was Tom Aza blocking me. I used to make allegations against other people, but this morning, I could not say those things anymore. I have come to realize that I was blocking myself, not anyone else. Today, by faith, my commitment is heavily renewed,” Hon. Anyama said.

He also expressed gratitude for the spiritual support provided by the church, affirming that as government leaders, they would continue working closely with the religious community.

Similarly, Hon. Aleru Tom Aza reaffirmed his commitment to a church wedding, assuring that his long-awaited plan was soon becoming a reality.

“The issue of the wedding is not far. I have been saying this, and very soon, we shall announce our decision,” he stated.

Rev. Fr. John Baptist Basobora, the lead preacher of the popular mission, blessed the two leaders along with the congregation, praying for their families and the entire district.

“Father God, I want to thank you and pray for each person here, for this district, and for our neighbors. May we continue to move in your power and be blessed? Thank You for blessing the young children, the elders, the women, the men, and everyone present. May this district and its neighbors continue to rise higher and higher. We will continue to thank You, God, in Jesus’ name,” Rev. Fr. Basobora prayed.

Notably, both Hon. Anyama and Hon. Aleru Tom Aza have remained in traditional marriages up to this point.
